中央銀行9月5日將公布8月外匯存底，在外匯存底投資收益挹注下，外匯存底可望續創歷史新高紀錄。

央行8月5日公布7月外匯存底為4,091.18億美元，較6月增加25.12 億美元，再創歷史新高。依照央行給予的主要國家資料顯示，台灣外匯存底排名第四大，僅次於中國大陸、日本和俄羅斯。

央行官員表示，7月外匯存底增加主因是投資運用收益，以及歐元等貨幣對美元升值，持有外匯折成美元後金額增加所致。

銀行主管認為，8月外資淨匯出幅度並不顯著，外匯存底仍有機會續揚。

另外，央行資料顯示，7月底外資持有國內股票和債券與新台幣存款餘額，共計2,290億美元，約當外匯存底56%，較上月增加5億美元，顯示外資對於台股信心較上月回升。而7月歐元對美元升值1.79%，高於5、6月幅度，也讓央行外匯存底投資有匯兌收益入袋。
