統一獅9日在台南棒球場擔任主場，賽前統一獅舉辦孔雀香酥脆棒球主題日活動，於棒球大道設計「孔雀香酥脆挑戰手氣遊戲大作戰」，吸引近500名排隊參加挑戰遊戲，獅迷王喬蕙表示：「今天知道陳漢典要來擔任開球嘉賓超級期待，特別從台中專程下來，期待漢典開球有驚人之舉，這也是自己首次來到台南主場，場外活動遊戲區，真的超好玩，除了看棒球外，還有孔雀香酥脆與贈品可以兌換，真的很棒。」

本場比賽是陳漢典第二次蒞臨統一獅主場擔任開球嘉賓，回憶上次在新莊開球，陳漢典表示：「那次開球可以說是完美表現，一出手直接投到捕手指定位置，而這一次來到南台灣台南棒球場，天氣超熱，其實擔心自己的控球能力會受到影響，勇於挑戰的陳漢典決定挑戰張泰山正面對決，但這次的控球似乎受到張泰山的激怒，球路偏高了！但氣勢不能輸，就很激動效仿WBC冠軍多明尼加拉弓射箭，並為了不輸好友Janet熊抱開球，也激動跳躍的新娘抱在張泰山身上」
