「國王」Felix Hernandez投8局，只被敲3安、失1分，送出6次三振，配合隊友火力大放送，單場5發紅不讓，尤其新秀二壘手Nick Franklin單場雙響砲，水手隊以7比1大勝教士隊，Hernandez拿下本季第6勝，中止2連敗。

Franklin絕對是值得介紹的新秀。這個禮拜一，他剛獲得大聯盟初體驗，兩天後擊出生涯第一支安打，這一戰就開轟，而且還是單場兩發。「我沒想到會擊出雙響砲，」Franklin說，「我只是照著一樣的打法而已。」

這兩支Franklin的全壘打都是陽春彈，第一轟被水手隊牛棚撿走，賽後交給Franklin。等著這位菜鳥的，還有啤酒浴。「我沒想到會被如此對待，但真的棒極了，很高興能贏球，經過前一天的比賽後，這是一場重要的勝利。」Franklin的開轟感言。前一場，水手隊在延長賽，以2比3輸球。

水手隊總教練Eric Wedge相當看好這名新秀。「真是Franklin的大日子，」Wedge說，「短期內，他就會更自在、更有自信。」

在這名新秀開轟之前，水手隊已經靠著Kendrys Morales、Brandon Ryan的全壘打，還有Morales的適時安打，攻下3分。在國王的好投下，這3分就已經足夠水手贏球。Hernandez不但投得好，打擊也有貢獻，7局上選到保送，下一棒Endy Chavez開轟，國王變成「滷蛋」，回本壘得分。 (接下一頁)
